This course investigates innovative residential laundry appliance technology, such as heat pump drying, automatic dosing and small load options for washer extractors and the utilization of Wi-Fi mobile apps; and how these technologies save water and energy as well as improve safety within the space.
Learning Objectives:
-Describe new heat pump technology in ventless dryers and how these dryers operate and save energy compared to traditional condenser dryers and vented dryers.
-Investigate the ease of installation and various install possibilities for heat pump dryers including second floor installation, closets, multi-family housing, high-rise and passive houses.
-Explain automatic dosing in washer extractors and how this technology improves safety in the home environment; and reduces footprint by eliminating storage space.
-Explain new convenience options, including single wash, Wi Fi technology and how this further reduces water and energy use.
