The History of Acrylic in Design explores the history of the material, how it is manufactured, how it is applied in furniture design, and how to care for and restore it. The course will chronicle product breakthroughs from the aviation industry as well as design breakthroughs such as Helena Rubenstein’s Paris Apartment featuring the acrylic bedroom designed by Ladislas Medgyes. The course will also demonstrate restoration techniques for scratching and wear.
